Ive been waiting on a few tapes from Sterling, Granger and Torrey’s recent trip to Bali… They arrived today, the footage was spot on (cheers Shano) and there was clips littered throughout the 3 tapes… But I spent 5 hours trying to capture the fucking things… I tried everything I know of to sort out the issue… Not one did the trick… Technology is a great thing, but when it finds your weakness (mine is patience) it can haunt you forever… After spittin it, I calmed myself down with a lil bit of drawing…
This drawing sums up my day… My eyes are actually squintier than the heads in the picture
Ive done a bit of travelling in my life so far, of all the places i’ve been Raglan tops the list… Point breaks, beachies, bakeries, old pubs, chiken rotti, top coffee all that good shit that keeps your day flowin’ fine…
This was home for us…
the view from our front door.
A few years back it was the best stop on the Junior series… No other event had what Raglan had, it might of been the fresh air or the good feeds or maybe it was the simple fact that the event was held on one of the best left handers in competitive surfing… Not sure what hapenned, but the event no longer exists, I guess all good things come to an end…
The last event at Raglan was hit with average conditions and left the points small and fickle… The tail end of the event was held on a fun lil beachie around the bend. Julian took out the event and did it with ease… After the win his Sunny Coast colours shone through the hills when he filled our Tarago with booze to celebrate his win… Here is the night as we remember it.
Jez, Dale & Hesky… Is that meant to be a shaka Jez?
Vastik
the Beer bong… what would juniorhood be without one?
Spekkie Spong Speggs
Mad Willy pre Cat-a-pilla… He was Raglan’s finest dancer this night… without a doubt
Nebees
Kendall sings the blues
Stocky… The best bloke we met in NZ… If you ever read this Stocky, we hope your well mate.
Here is a snippet from the Junior series flick I made for Billabong that year…
