Nearing the end of the JBT doco…

Its kind of a strange feeling coming to the end of a project like this… There has been days where I wanted to punch fuck out of this room, there’s been days that I have bounced out of bed to the beat of the project, but Without downs you cant have ups I guess…

I love music… It’s the best thing the world has created and I listen to music from many different pockets, but outside of thier hits I never listened to the JBT before working on this project, I was aware of how good they were but I never thought… ‘I feel lke listening to the JBT’… I have listened to this album everyday for months on end… Play, pause, cut, trim, delete… The music has not worn on me… I think this album will be something special…

Here is a snippet from the ‘Funky Monks’ a film that kept me inspired throughout the project and one that I think sets the standard for Music doco’s… Well, this and Bob Dylan’s ‘Dont look back’…

The trailer for the Doco will be out early next year…

Donavon is one cool dude… He’s a motorbike riding, moustached, freesurfing sensation dash award winning musician… He does soul arches and wears bell bottoms but to add to all of that he now owns his own bar on Maui… Here is a few shots of the place… WG

the 40 year swell is here… Or was it the 50 year swell? I dont know ive only been on earth for 23…

Its been talked up by everyone with a mouth for over a week now. It’s had more hype then Modern Collective but the good thing is (much like modern collective) it delivered. Our good friend Laurie Towner had an epic first day out at Jaws. Paired with Mike ‘Snips’ Parsons he managed to get past the 38 skis, 4 helicopters and 8 boats to get a bomb. Louie and Rasta went too and I heard they got some mental ones. Tom carroll broke his leg or ankle at Waimea and a few crews went out to outer logs to have a whip around. Tomorrow is meant to be bigger with better winds so the Eddie will probably be on and Loz, Louie and Rasta are hitting jaws again

The World Junior Championships aren’t far off.

If the waves turn on it can be one of the most refreshing displays of competitive surfing you will see, Its one of few events that can crown a world champ in a handful of heats… We’ve had a hand in producing video content from past events and its about time we ran some shit we created on our whore of a site…
