Homer always wanted a life under the sea…
Some out takes from a day in autumn, the best time of year for waves. These two sessions were on the same day, I didn’t get out of my suit in between. Rob Coote and Joel Gribble got some crazy barrels on the beach break that morning and Justin ‘JUGHEAD’ Allport scared me when we pulled up to the reef break. I didn’t want a wave after what I saw him try and ride. We got there as the tide was rising and the swell was dying so it was all but over when we started towing. Thats Dylan Longbottom towing me in.

nb: when Mooney sent us this I was getting on a plane, so its password locked at the moment, Mooney will ditch that soon, in the meantime type: autumnday and press play
I turn this computer off with relief and a smile, its been the bane of my existence for almost a month, the thing owns me, Runamuk Visuals is nothing without it and it knows it. Creative Destruction chapter 4 begins the second I walk out the door. We will chase waves around California in a Motorhome bigger than my house, we roll with good friends and a few new faces. Droid is one, I like his surfing, I like his ways. The others crew I dont know much of, im lazy, I dont watch enough video or read enough shit… Good people have said good things about our chapter 4 team. Hopefully we bag enough clips to entertain the viewers, a project like this, is in the hands of mother nature, we love her, but she can sure be a bitch… If we get skunked I dont think we will be able to find a trawler in time…
Regardless, the journey to Burningman will happen, the thought scares me… I hope it will entertain you.
Something will drop on these pages every day while we are gone… I did a month worth of posts yesterday, commitment right? fuck it, its just poached shit, but you only come here when you’re bored, right?… There should be something to momentarily end your boredom each day, if not there is some fine looking ladies to make you realize…’Its never gonna happen to me’

“Ze Frog & Toad”
“Nicholas Chalmers challenges the conventional gallery space”
18-months after his debut art show ”YES! YES! YES! Thankyou but no!” in Brisbane, Nicholas Chalmers’ is back to gratify his audience, but this time around in the back of a rental truck. ”Ze Frog & Toad” is the latest brain-child of Chalmers’ projects. Deciding to challenge the conventional gallery space, Chalmers’ will exhibit his latest works in the back of a modified removal style truck. The exhibition will be showcased in its first location, in association with City Lights Projects, on Friday 3rd of September in Melbourne for one night only, followed by Sydney and Brisbane.
“Ze Frog & Toad” is a fresh take on the quintessential stark white walls of the modern gallery space. Featuring Chalmers’ latest collection of paintings, photographs and prints, “Ze Frog and Toad” exhibits an array of small artworks for sale. Showcasing ornate, detailed ink work on wood and paper, along with photographs from his worldly travels, Chalmers’ portrays his quirky perspective of situations and expectations, illustrating his social views. His didactic yet humorous artwork aims to entertain, provoke and engage his viewers.
Deeply immersed in the Australian lowbrow art subculture, Chalmers’ body of work as a professional artist is impressive. Having been involved in numerous group art shows such as “I Used to Skate Once”, “Wax Off”, “Sizzle” and “Lovers’ Land”, Nicholas’ intricate work is easily recongnisable amongst the Australian artistic smorgasbord. Working the 9-5 grind as a graphic artist, Chalmers’ artistic repertoire is constantly expanding and improving.
“Ze Frog and Toad” is being showcased in Melbourne on Friday 3rd September from 5.30pm on the corner of Rutledge and Hosier Lane, in Sydney at on Friday 10th September from 5.30pm on the North end of Marlborough Street, Surry Hills, and in Brisbane on Friday 17th September from 6pm at Nine Lives Gallery. Challenging the conventional gallery space, and providing his audience with a fresh concept, ”Ze Frog and Toad” is sure to encapsulate Chalmers’ meticulous artistic touch and insight to provide an exhibition high in quality and innovative standards.
